Join Sterling Sports Club 

To join, fill out the application form by clicking the 'Application Form' button above. Please note if you are only interested in 'Practical' shooting, before you apply you must have completed a UKPSA Long Gun or Short Gun safety course. From completion of the form, and vetting, we will contact you re payment of the membership fee and photo to create your digital membership card. The cost to join Sterling Sports Club is a Yearly membership and then a fee to come to any event, from a competition, to a training day. Typical training days are £10 to members and Club competitions from £30 for members to £35 for non members. All events are booked through PractiScore.

Sterling Sports Club is an event-based club, meaning we do not have a clubhouse or fixed opening hours. Instead, we operate through pre-arranged competitions and practice days, which are booked via Practiscore.

We have two ranges:

• Hampshire: Used for competitions and practice days.

• St Albans: A smaller venue primarily for practice sessions.

As a Home Office-approved club, all new members must complete a three-month probationary period. This period is tailored to your current shooting experience and ability, and you will be assessed as part of your membership process. The assessment can be completed during one of our open days or events. Probationers may require additional training sessions and range safety and competence assessment.

The probationary/membership fee is £45 per annum.

ALL new members join on a three month probationary membership, with full membership being confirmed by the Committee. The Committee reserve the right to extend or refuse probation.
As part of the application process you will be requested to provide a face photo for your ID card, proof of identity (passport/driving licence/FAC/SGC) and recent proof of address (utility bill/bank statement etc). These can be securely emailed to the Membership Secretary, once requested and your membership card photo can be a simple photo taken from your phone. If you are not comfortable with this you may request a video call with our Membership Secretary to verify your identity. Failure to complete questions truthfully could result in membership being refused and/or later revoked.
The club is obliged to inform the police of certain information contained in this form before the start of your probationary period. If you have any questions about eligibility please email us first to discuss.
The committee reserve the right to refuse this application. Once your application has been received our Membership Secretary will be in touch within 7 days to request payment for your joining fee and first three months probationary membership.

Joining a shooting club is subject to some safeguards by law.
We also need to comply with the firearms act of 1968 and all applications will undergo police vetting.
Once the vetting is complete, we will send you a probationary membership invitation and information on training, range safety and competency assessments courses.
